As an artist captivated by the human form, I find solace and inspiration in the expressive power of figurative paintings. Using oil paint, I aim to illuminate the depths of human emotion and delve into the intricate narratives that unfold within each individual.

I reveal the complexities of human emotions and struggles through my subjects' gestures and postures. I capture the vulnerability and strength within, inviting viewers to reflect upon their own experiences and find resonance within the images presented.

Delving into the delicate aspects of human nature, I unveil a sensitivity and fragility. Drawing inspiration from cherished memories and family connections, I interconnect narratives using precious artefacts, heartfelt letters and photographs. This is the foundation for my work, bridging the past with the present.

Throughout this journey, I have been exploring the experiences of three generations of male relatives, and it is through this research that I have developed a personal understanding of the challenges surrounding men's mental health. Across different eras, I observe how men have expressed their masculinity and nurtured their mental well-being. Over time, I developed an understanding of the impact of trauma, the importance of sharing experiences, and the value of what is left behind. Memory and object associations have become critical to my approach, and the need for a compelling narrative emerged.

My portrayal of male nudes is shaped by a fusion of personal experiences and historical narratives, which includes discovering a connection between my Grandfather and the extraordinary life of T.E. Lawrence (Lawerence of Arabia). I am influenced by artists such as Francis Bacon and his extraordinary depiction of the human figure and the quiet, completive, and intimate still-life paintings of Giorgio Morandi. My paintings depict the figure as detached, contained, and isolated within empty or abstract spaces, creating a sense of imbalance and disconnection. Naked, with only a piece of draped fabric offering solace, they convey a profound sense of men's intricate nature, balancing strength with internal vulnerability and fragility.

Intimate Diary is a heartfelt exploration of feminine contemplation, capturing the essence of women immersed in moments of serenity and profound introspection. Portrayed in places of familiarity and safety, I define these quiet interludes as pivotal and transformative experiences. Each composition is a visual testament to the power and depth of meditation, revealing the nuanced emotions and inner dialogues that unfold within these thoughtful spaces. I aim to evoke a sense of connection, empathy, and recognition among viewers. Ultimately, I celebrate the strength, resilience, and wisdom inherent in the contemplative spirit of women.
